Workshop Mechanic

WellGear are looking for a suitable candidate to join their fast growing and dynamic business. The successful candidate will perform a vital role in the growth of a motivated close-knit team.

Role:

The successful candidate’s role will be to perform maintenance duties on a variety of equipment within WellGear’s Drumoak base. On a day-to-day basis the role will involve maintaining a range of hydraulic equipment, diesel engines, rotating equipment and pumps. The right person must be self-motivated and enjoy working on such equipment.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Servicing and maintenance of equipment
  • Overhaul of equipment
  • Assembly of new build equipment
  • Working with the maintenance management system
  • Lead and work with trainee/apprentices

This would suit a candidate with the following qualities:

  • Experience of hydraulics is essential
  • Prior experience of drilling equipment maintenance (Pumps, rotaries, hydraulic powerpacks, etc)
  • Hands on approach with a can-do attitude
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Takes pride in their work
  • Self-motivated, driven and determined.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Experience:

Time served apprenticeship in a relevant discipline, or extensive experience in a similar role.
The following or equivalent courses are desirable:

  • BFPA Hydraulics Level 1/2
  • Hydraulic Hose Assembly Course
